Our career consist of 11 semesters or 5 and a
half years. For us coursing Pharmaceutical Chemistry the workload is very
heavy. Every semester we have to take between six to seven different subjects,
which is a lot. This turns out to be even more stressful adding that our
Faculty is in debt with infrastructure and materials with us the students, we
could count among these faults the lack of classrooms and even the size of them
considering the quantity of students, the “aulario” doesn’t even count with
hadicapped access. And when it comes to materials, in many laboatories and the
technology we are taught to use comes to be very obsolete Also, some professors act as if they were gods
and have very biased evaluative methods.
Considering the teaching methods and
curriculum, for the first I could say that on most courses I’ve been given a
pretty good teaching, I think the only bad thing to keep in mind around this is
the issue that I mentioned above, about some professors self-image. And about
the curriculum I might say that Botanics and Pharmacognosy were too extent but
now they both merged into just one big course, which makes much more sense
since Pharmacognosy is strongly based on Botanics but it can be learnt in the
way along these basic concepts. From my perspective this approach could be
taken with other courses too such as General Physics I-II and Analitic
Chemistry I-II with their respectives labs.
